Welcome to This Life Of Wander – a blog about me, WanderWoman, and the journeys I’ve made during my 52 years here on earth.  These are not just the places I’ve traveled to with my very large size 10 feet, but also those journeys I’ve taken with my heart – a heart that is often prone to wander away from the One who loves me most.  Hopefully that will soon be changing, as I’m about to embark on a new adventure…a journey of gratitude…my pilgrimage to joy.

This journey will require no walking stick nor hiking boots, no plane ticket nor passport.   They’ll be no suitcases to pack and no itinerary to follow.  All it’ll require of me is the courage to look honestly at my simple but grace-filled life in the north woods of Minnesota and find the words that will adequately express the meditations of my heart.   This blog is my gratitude journal – a place where I will be counting and naming the daily blessings of this ordinary life – a life that I am daring to live fully!

The idea for this journal was not my own, but rather a love dare from a woman of God that has already walked this radical journey of gratitude and was changed in the process.  Thank you, Ann Voskamp, for your inspiration, your transparency and the invitation…

  1. What a perfect photo! This really personifies your heart, Carey. Scanning the horizon for the next adventure, whether geographical or spiritual….this couldn’t be more perfect. I might even consider putting this photo on the home page. 🙂

  2. You’re right Julie – this is the kind of picture that should be on the homepage. I wish that it was a photo of me looking out over Lake Superior or the river at Jay Cooke St. Park and not a Scottish loch, but there’s not much I can do about the location at this time. I may ask Livvy to take another version of the same pic this coming summer.
